LlamaLAN 26 - Big Games Announced!

Post by CyberDrac »

Llamas of the class of '26,

Thank you for your feedback over the Gig Games for the upcoming LlamaLAN 26 weekend.
The final choices have been made, some were obvious, and others required an executive decision.

Friday's Big Game will be Insurgency, a FPS in the style of the love child of Counter Strike and ARMA and currently on sale on Steam (http://store.steampowered.com/app/22288 ... 1_7_15__13) for £2.99 for the next 24 hours or so.

Saturday's first Big Game will be Rocket League, this took the lead in our poll quite early on and stayed there until the bitter end, obviously very popular with a large proportion of those attending. Currently on sale through Steam (http://store.steampowered.com/app/25295 ... 1_7_15__13) with a small discount, or get together with friends and grab a four pack to share at £8.44 each for the 24 hours or so.

Saturday's second Big Game will be Goldeneye : Source, a popular game at LAN with a great deal of nostalgia for many with the added bonus price tag of FREE (https://www.geshl2.com/downloads/).

Saturday's third big game will be Chivalry : Medieval Warfare (http://store.steampowered.com/app/21964 ... 1_7_15__13), another LlamaLAN favourite, narrowly pipped to the post in seconds place in the poll. Best described as a medieval scream simulator it can be particularly fun when we we introduce a low gravity option to the server. Currently not on sale, but is already present in many Steam libraries from previous events. If any deals come up in the coming weeks, other than the normal four pack, we'll be sure to post them for anyone who wants to join us.

Sunday's Big Game will be Team Fortress 2 (http://store.steampowered.com/app/440/), with now price barrier to joining in and an established history of fun and hilarity we'll have a server cycling through some of the favourite maps and game modes for people to play.

We reserve the right to use Sunday's Big Game slot for a game-of-the-LAN , we sometime find that one game tends to take of an event, not through any particular planning, but because it scratches an itch for the gamers attending. Should we find ourselves with an underground hit on our hands we may organise something for the Sunday slot.

On a related note, we will be ensuring that the full Guitar Hero World Tour/Rock Band kit will be available on the XBox360 in the console area, and I suspect some late night Rock Band/GHWT will be undertaken.

So, check your Steam Games Libraries, update your games, and maybe even invest in a few titles if you haven't already got them and don't want to miss out on the fun!
